Set in the watery Parana Delta of Northern Argentina. There violent El Turu is captain of a water bus that links the isolated communities of traditional reedcutters. One of the workers, Álvaro, is a quiet gay man whose love of books makes him as much an outsider as his sexuality. It also makes him the perfect target for El Turu’s hostility.
