Skeeter Bronson arbeitet als Hausmeister in einem Hotel, das einst seinem Vater gehörte. Eigentlich sollte er es ja leiten, aber der neue Besitzer Mr. Nottingham hält sich nicht an die Abmachungen. So widmet sich Skeeter seiner neuesten Herausforderung und passt auf die Kinder seiner Schwester auf. Auf wundersame Weise werden seine fantastischen Gute-Nacht-Geschichten aber am nächsten Tag wahr.
