In der Agentur Sterling Cooper herrscht quälende Ungewissheit. Nicht nur, dass sich alle im Angesicht der nahenden Fusion Sorgen um ihren Job machen, auch die politische Situation des Landes macht der Belegschaft schwer zu schaffen. Duck Phillips verrät Pete Campbell im Vertrauen, dass dieser nach der Fusion seine Nachfolge als Chef der Kundenbetreuung antreten wird. Duck selbst soll Präsident der neuen Agentur werden. Als Creative Director Don Draper davon erfährt, will er seine Koffer packen. Peggy Olson trifft erneut auf Pfarrer John Gill, der ihr unbedingt helfen will. Doch Peggy sieht sich erst einmal mit Petes erneutem Liebesgeständnis konfrontiert. Dons Frau Betty ist schwanger. Hin- und hergerissen, wie sie mit der Nachricht umgehen soll, treibt es sie in die Arme eines fremden Geschäftsmannes. (ZDF)

The finale of the second season was a solid win for the creators. They once again nailed the balance between the company's dynamics and the personal lives of its employees, and it's fair to say both were on point. As anticipated, Don Draper's return to New York shifted everything into a whole new gear, especially with the added tension of the Cuban Missile Crisis looming in the background. / Lesson Learned: Worried about a nuclear war? Best investment might be in a fallout shelter... or just a really well-stocked liquor cabinet.
