Kazuma Kiryu, once one of the most fearsome yakuza and known as the Dragon of the Dojima Family, comes back to Kamuro-cho after a ten year jail sentence. His return means many things to many different people, but to one girl, it means she may have a chance of finding her mother. To one of Kazuma's yakuza friends, however, it means a chance to settle a score. (Verleiher-Text)

One of the first films I really didn't enjoy from Takashi Miike. The theme itself intrigued me - a scoundrel returning to society from prison and wanting to reform - but the execution stands out only in a few scenes. Overall, it's rather kitschy, and you're just waiting for some action or perhaps an interesting scene with a helicopter. ()
