The heroine of this feature film of documentary accuracy is the sixteen-year-old Jutka, brought up as a child in state care. After the death of her foster parents, she leaves the village and goes to work at the Lőrinci Weavery. Night shifts, workers' dormitory, female friends, cafés, boys, love, pregnancy, abortion - the experience of joy and freedom is quickly replaced by that of deception and a wish to escape. When she meets Péter, it seems that by his side she may eventually arrive home. Péter's well-to-do entrepreneur parents would also accept her. Yet, after a Christmas Eve spent with Péter, two casual friends rape her and her drunken fiancé does not protect her. They break up. Jutka becomes increasingly tough and lonely in her struggle for getting along. Her female friend delivers a child in secret. The baby, left with her, provides her with a life purpose for a while, but how should she go on when Zsuzsa suddenly takes the baby back? (Verleiher-Text)
