Ju-on: The Final is an example of how even Japanese horror has stagnated and is no longer able to necessarily come up with something new. Old classic horrors are just being repeated, but they simply can't have the same impact as they did years ago when the first Ju-on reached us. Ju-on: The Final is essentially just a marketing film, capitalizing on a well-known name. But it doesn't bring anything new to the series.
