Barney erfährt nach einem One-Night-Stand, dass er möglicherweise Vater wird. Als sich die Sache glücklicherweise als Fehlalarm entpuppt, ruft Barney vor Erleichterung den sogenannten 'Nicht-Vatertag' ins Leben. Währenddessen wünschen sich Marshall und Lily nichts sehnlicher, als endlich Eltern zu werden. Nachdem Lily volltrunken zu Marshall ins Büro gekommen ist, um ihn zwecks Erfüllung des gemeinsamen Kinderwunsches zu verführen, beschleichen die beiden jedoch leise Zweifel an ihrem Vorhaben. (ORF)

The third season has been all about relationships, then weddings, and now about children. I'm on the fence about sticking around for more episodes; I love a good laugh, but the seventh episode kept up the trend of sidelining humor for deep, philosophical musings on relationships and reproduction. Even Barney dropped the ball this time, and I had to settle for Lily getting wasted. / Lesson learned: Come up with a new holiday. 1*-
