Vietnam-Veteran John Rambo schlägt sich als Schlangenfänger und Bootskapitän in Thailand durchs Leben. Idealistische Ärzte überreden ihn, sie ins benachbarte Burma zu bringen, um die dort vom Bürgerkrieg gepeinigte Bevölkerung notdürftig zu versorgen. Dabei gerät die Gruppe jedoch in die Gewalt regierungstreuer Soldaten und ist fortan der Folter ausgesetzt. Während deren Hilfsorganistation eine hartgesottene Söldnertruppe beauftragt, sie zu befreien, beschließt Rambo, sich selbst zu helfen. (ORF)
