Vacation Playhouse was a series made up of a collection of unsold television pilots that didn't make the CBS lineup.
To recoup the expense of making these shows, networks would package them into a summer replacement series, and sometimes a regular series, just to sell advertising during the show. After watching most of these pilots, the public understood why they were never picked up. (Verleiher-Text)
