El lazarillo de Tormes

A film based on a picaresque novel published in 1554. It is a partial adaptation of the adventures of Lazarillo, a boy who is a guide of a greedy blind beggar, a servant of an even greedier priest and a companion to a poor nobleman. It is a demonstration of Frankoist manipulation of national culture and history. (Summer Film School)
