Auf seiner Hochzeitsreise lernt Lenny die hübsche Kelly kennen – und stellt fest, daß er mit seiner Hochzeit einen schweren Fehler begangen hat, denn Kelly wäre ihm als Lebensgefährtin lieber, als seine frisch Angetraute. Lenny setzt alles daran, die Frau an seiner Seite auszutauschen, wobei Kellys Vater, ein stinkreicher Kerl, das größte Hindernis zu sein scheint. (Verleiher-Text)

I really liked how the film had a dramatic undertone for a large part of its runtime, where it would take only a little for the comedy to turn into something more tragic. I was a bit disappointed that the finale was almost a happy ending. However, fortunately, it was only almost, because even what is presented here is ultimately ambiguous. The film is well directed and acted. The poor remake by the Farrelly brothers doesn’t even come close.
