Einst zeugte die bluternstige Mörderpuppe Chucky mit ihrer ebenso durchgeknallten Braut Tiffany einen Sohn, Glen. Der, mittlerweile verwaist, macht sich nach Hollywood auf, wo man gerade einen Film ber die todbringenden Abenteuer seiner Eltern dreht. Und wie es sich für einen guten Sohn gehört, erweckt Glen seine Erzeuger kurzerhand wieder zum Leben. Eine schlechte Idee, wie sich herausstellt, denn Vater und Mutter beginnen zum Entsetzen des Sprösslings sofort mit einer neuen Killer-Tour. Als sich Chucky dann zu allem berfluss auch noch mit der friedfertigen Natur seines Sohnemanns konfrontiert sieht, hngt erwartungsgem der Haussegen schief. Tiffany hingegen schwebt im siebten Himmel, als sie erfährt, wer die Hauptrolle in der Verfilmung ihres Lebens spielt Ihre Lieblingsschauspielerin Jennifer Tilly. Und die lernt die kleine, aber feine Puppenfamilie bald näher kennen, als ihr lieb ist. (Verleiher-Text)

Perfekter Trash. Unterbewusst habe ich mich schon lange auf diese Serie vorbereitet, sogar zur Zeit von Chucky und seine Braut habe ich aktuelle Artikel vom Set im Horror-Magazin gelesen, aber nachdem ich von dem Mordfall James Bulger erfahren hatte, habe ich die Serie verworfen. Andererseits, wenn Chucky mit der Ankunft von Jennifer Tilly nur noch eine Horrorkomödie ist, kann ich diese letzten beiden Filme akzeptieren. Als Genrewechsel ist es sehr unterhaltsam, vor allem für die Entschlüsselung der verschiedenen Anspielungen, die Witze haben ein gutes Timing und Jenn Tilly ist einfach hervorragend (sie spielt buchstäblich sich selbst).

As an absolute novice (of the countless) in terms of the previous Chucky films, I started watching this one without any expectations. The rather contradictory impression it gave me was mainly due to its imbalance. In a plot that is not necessarily bad, but rather silly, there are many captivating moments that showcase the director's impressive work. The parodic references to Psycho or The Shining are as reliably amusing as the massive splashes of blood that make it clear that most of what goes on here is not meant to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, the minority, which is supposed to be the opposite, falls short. The casting carousel, concerning the role of the Virgin Mary and her relationship with Joseph, to which a rather insensitive parallel is drawn with Chucky and Tiffany's relationship, is just as bad as the portrayal of the main character, Jennifer Tilly, whose overacting somewhat frays the viewer's nerves. But because Seed of Chucky does not take itself so seriously, I allow myself to somewhat overrate it.

"Seed of Chucky" is not a disappointment, although I did not expect the series to go any higher after the fourth installment, but I still hoped for it at least a little. Jennifer Tilly is the star of the movie this time and Chucky is a bit in the background, although some of his lines are worth it. John Waters' supporting role is enjoyable, a legend of bizarre films. I almost think that this would be a pretty good ending to the series, but Manicini is starting again and there is still something to look forward to. Or something to suffer from.

Hahaha that was just incredible. I watched it at the Brutal Assault horror festival booth and you can imagine what it looked like when Britney Spears died. Otherwise, the movie has some really strong jokes and Chucky is truly brilliant. I'm glad the filmmakers understood that they couldn't take a movie about a murdering doll seriously.
