Jiří Strach disappointed me with this. After the near-perfect The Cage, where Kryštof Hádek delivered an impeccable performance, this film feels like a significant step down. Yes, Jiřina Bohdalová dominates the film with her performance, which I must highlight. At her age, she carries it with unique grace, and I tip my hat to her. However, I was really put off by the film's portrayal of priorities. It almost seemed like the creators didn’t understand the concept of morality. Lies should never be prioritized over the truth, no matter how harsh it is. This really let me down and overshadowed the incredible performance by Jiřina Bohdalová. It’s a shame because technically, the film is top-notch, as is the acting in the supporting roles. Hopefully, Strach will do better next time. I give it a 5/10. ()
