Der 67. Eurovision Song Contest findet in Liverpool statt und wird unter dem Motto "United by Music" in de M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool ausgetragen. Großbritannien springt für den Vorjahressieger Ukraine als Gastgeber ein. Insgesamt 37 Länder nehmen dieses Jahr am ESC statt. Norwegen, Malta, Serbien, Lettland, Portugal, Irland, Kroatien, Schweiz, Israel, Moldau, Schweden, Aserbaidschan, Tschechische Republik, Niederlande und Finnland singen heute um den Einzug ins Finale. Die zehn Länder, die im Publikums-Voting am besten abschneiden, sind im Finale am Samstag, 13. Mai dabei. (ORF)

It's crazy, it's cheesy and it's great fun! No one can take this monster show seriously at all. Except perhaps the staff involved, who have my admiration, because it’s staggering that they can handle the technical and organizational ins and outs of this cavalcade.

It's probably not my place to judge the tastes of the majority of people, but for God’s sake, just look at the monstrosities that made it to the finals. Anyway, I would like to express my opinion on the quality of the show itself. It was very dubious, sometimes even intimidating, mainly because of the incredibly whiny and affected speech of the blonde giantess, who with her size and loudness pushed herself into the role of the main (= hard to miss) presenter. After all I've seen and heard here, I’m not even sure if I should be happy that the Czech group Vesna has advanced to Saturday's final. (20%)
