The Proof of the Pudding

The award-winning architect Herman Hertzberger is still on top with his 90 years on Earth. His most iconic building, the Centraal Beheer in Apeldoorn from 1972, will undergo a transformation from an abandoned office building into a modern, sustainable space for housing, offices and leisure activities. Hertzberger calls this transformation "proof of the pudding", as his structuralist ideals from the 60s and 70s intended buildings to be flexible and sustainable. But is the present still receptive to his vision and is this profitable square meter to the people? We get to know Hertzberger as a passionate, humorous and modest person with a vision of what architecture means to people and society today. (The Norwegian International Film Festival)
