Der 16-jährige Manuel (Gianmarco Franchini) ist der Sohn des Gangsters Daytona (Toni Servillo), der früher Roms Unterwelt prägte. Doch Manuel hat damit nichts am Hut – er versucht, die sengend heißen Sommer in Rom so gut es geht zu genießen. Bis er eines Tages von einer Gruppe korrupter Carabinieri erpresst wird. Er soll auf einer Party kompromittierende Fotos von einem prominenten Politiker machen. Doch Manuel traut den Polizisten nicht über den Weg und taucht mitsamt der Fotos unter. Während die rachsüchtigen Carabinieri nach Manuel fahnden und als Mitwisser ausschalten wollen, findet dieser Zuflucht bei zwei alten Bekannten (Valerio Mastrandea und Pierfrancesco Favino) seines Vaters. Is this the same Sollima who did Sicario 2 and is an expert on European gangster movies? The beginning still looked promising, the protagonist is at a disgusting gay party full of drugs and alcohol, where he is tasked with filming a minister, blackmailed by the cops, only he fails to complete the task and goes on the run. And then the whole film staggers in place, offers nothing of interest (no action, no violence, no twists) it doesn't go anywhere story-wise and as a result you are so fed up with the film that you just want it to end. It wasn't fun. 3/10.
