Hafreiat

Hafreiat tells the story of Abo Dya, a fugitive from Amman, who lives in Gneyya, a small village in northern Jordan, with his wife, his son Dya and expecting their second child to be born in the next few weeks. He is one of the Jordanian workers hired in a Spanish archaeological campaign becoming one of the main sources of income for the villagers. The working conditions are very hard, the relationship in the village and with foreigners is increasingly tense and the only realistic solution he sees is to return to Amman, something his family is not willing to do because of the risk of returning to his criminal past. With a strong personality and a blind determination, he will try to improve the working conditions of the site by leading a strike, he will confront the Spanish leaders to question the relations they are establishing with the workers and he will dedicate great conversations to his son to prevent him from making the same mistakes.
