Englisch Bizarre, disturbing and depressing. A peculiar and minimalist narrative about a legendary mass murderer, more psychologically plausible than the thematically similar The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but on the other hand much less visually interesting and without a single scene that a horror fan would play repeatedly and whose suggestion would penetrate deeply into their mind (TCM is packed to bursting with such sequences). Still, a valuable lesson in my genre education, you simply won't find similarly tuned exploitation flicks, with an honest seventies atmosphere and a primitive guilty pleasure form. 55% ()

Englisch Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile is essentially conceived as a reconstruction of Ezra's life after his mother's death, with the editor entering the narrative throughout, providing some commentary, which emphasizes the unsettling feelings that can arise from this film. Truly ahead of its time, but still a very well-crafted piece even today, capable of unsettling the viewer at the very least. The effects are excellent, although the color of the blood is a bit painful on the eyes. ()
