Humankind is ambushed by a new virus in the 21st century. For many, challenging times have arrived. How has this threat been handled by the hospital employees on the front lines? The workers of the health industry have joined forces to care for the endless stream of patients in COVID units. Their work consists of hours of walking around in protective suits, connecting patients to ventilators and extracorporeal circulation, calling the bereaved. However, expressions of gratitude from those who have recovered offer a glimmer of hope. The burden of these heroes and their coping are shown in three hospitals in Kolín, Prague, and Hranice na Moravě over a year during the pandemic. (Academia Film Olomouc)
