One of those great historical films where there's a lot of talk, but not idle talk. The main conflict is thought-provoking even today, thanks to the perfectly honed dialogue that made it to the screen from the stage, and if you like The Lion in Winter, Beckett, or Mary, Queen of Scots, feel free. A very successful historical film in the sense that the era is brilliantly captured, but above all the intrigues that are associated with the characters presented here. Thomas More certainly lived an interesting life and was born in a time that was not favorable to him. He was not a steadfast man in every situation, but otherwise his fate would not have been so intriguing. Excellent cast! ()
